Some just random thoughts

By Sashman1205 Wednesday, August 13, 2008

So when I was first diagnosed over years ago nearing 9 in september I first thought that I was alone and that there wasn't very many people in this country let alone world that would understand what i was going through. Well looking back on that I can remember something very clearly.

WHen I was diagnosed the 2000 Summer Olympic Games were going on in Sydney Australia. Well at first I didn't really care about them until I found out about the Swimmer Gary Hall Jr. who had just recently been diagnosed just a few months prior of the olympics. THis man who you can read about at is website (http://garyhalljr.com/) was someone that when I was first diagnosed really changed my life and my outlook in diabetes around. He was told by drs. in 1999 that he would never be able to race at Olympic Standards again and then in 2000 he won his 3rd and Final Gold Medal...

So yes when you are first diagnosed it will become life changing and you may have ot change your syle of life but just remember to keep reaching for those dreams.. and you never know what may happen
