Heck yeah for rest days, baby!!
Anna, I know you already know I'll love this article because MUSCLE GROWS when you're resting! As a powerlifter, my rest days are just as important as my training days. They're planned carefully!
Sometimes I'm on a prgram where I'm training 4 days a week with weights, but those days are divided carefully between muscle groups and dynamic vs. max effort training methods.
At the moment, I'm on 3 days a week and I'm hitting certain body parts more often as a result.
My biggest problem when it comes to rest is that my jobs are very active! As a yoga instructor and restoraitve yoga instructor I'm using my wrists and my chest muscles for pressing all the time! So they don't rest as well...
Anyways, excellent article. Too much of anything, even a good thing, will make it a bad thing!!!

Anna,
I needed to read this article :) I think that psychologically, rest days can be more taxing than intense workout days. I try to remember that even though I'm not exercising, my metabolism is still revved and it's important to fuel my body.
Good luck at Pikes Peak !
