Walking with Hope

By Carolina Saturday, May 09, 2009

I've been writing thank you notes to all of the people who donating money to the JDRF walk last weekend, and it's nice to see how many people donated money.  Unfortunately, I didn't actually get to walk at the JDRF walk because I had to rush to a volleyball tournament, so we just dropped off the money and left.  In any case, the Walk and getting donations always makes me a little more hopeful that someday soon, there will be an accessible cure to Type 1 Diabetes.  It's nice to see that so many people I know care.

Hey Carolina!

I know what you mean, when you're at those events, it's like "Ohhhh other people care too! Oh fewf!"

It's so comforting!

How long have you had diabetes? Are you a pumper?

I know it's been a while since you asked, but I was looking through and thought I'd answer your question, Ginger.  I'm 15 years old and I've had diabetes since I was 6.  I've been on the pump since I was 8.  I really like it, although as with anything, it's certainly not perfect.

what were the names of your walk teams? I always enjoy going to the walk and seeing some creative team t-shirts with names like "Bubba's Buddies" and "Dan's Diabetes Destroyers." :)
