Well as all of you know, i've had some major problems taking care of myself and managing my diabetes. I signed up to this website in July and hadn't been taking care of myself way before then. Well it finally caught up with me, and I hope that if people that read this really take a look at their life...

Hey Jess,
I'm really glad you're all right! DKA is scary. I remember when I went into DKA when I was 18, and I just felt like I was shutting down. When I went into DKA because I'd spent too much time outside stringing Christmas lights in the winter and the cold killed my insulin. I didn't feel well the night before, really tired, but I thought it was just normal late night exhaustion from being out in the cold so much!
So, looking back, do you think you could think about whatever happened with your insulin or carbs that elevated your blood sugar? Were you able to check your blood sugar at some point during that day?
I'm so glad you're recovered and feeling better---and counting every carb! :)

Hey Jess!
Great blog! Can you tell us what caused you to go into DKA? Not enough insulin, being sick, BG being too high for too long? All of that will help educate others reading your posts!
You sound like you are doing fabulous! Keep up the good work, it will pay off in spades! Feeling great, looking great and everyone will see it in your smile!
