Hey it's Jenny again just wanted to say hi. Hope that everybody that reads this is feeling really well. So I was wondering that if anybody out there is using an insulin pump if they could tell me.
I've been thinking a lot about an insulin pump. I just want to know how it feels and if you guys like it. Oh yeah if you could tell me which pump you use.

I'm not a pump user anymore, but I wore one pretty much for the first four years of my diabetes, and then I decided to go off it. I had a minimed. Today, it really doesn't fit my lifestyle with yoga and powerlifting, and I got annoyed by having it in my skin all the time and wearing the pump on me, but it definitely worked really well for a long time for me.
If you can get insurance and your doctor's help to get one, it's ABSOLUTELY worth a try.

I have been on the pump, a minimed 722, for a little more then a year now. I absolutely encourage you to get one, at least to see if you like it! What is also great is that even if you don't like it, you can go back to injections. I myself couldn't imagine going back to injections!
The pump does take a little getting used to, but for the most part it was quite easy. Choosing the right pump is important though, so take your time and review all the pumps out there thoroughly. I couldn't be happier with the Minimed, but the Animas is nice too.....personally, I don't like the Omnipod, but that's me.

Well as a proud pumper since i was seven (i'm sixteen now) i can very highly reccommend a pump to you!
I started of on a minimed, but had one too many bad experiences with that brand, but am currently using an Animas ir2020. and i am completely in love with it. Like you have absolutely no idea! haha. My love for my pump is probably more so than i could ever love anyone... ever. Basically the infusion set is almost unnoticeable, and its easy to insert, change, take out, ad pretty much anything. The pump has helped to improve my A1c levels by alot, and i just find that the pump is just soooo incredibly convienent. if you hvae any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

I have a Minimed Paradigm 722 pump. It's grey, but I kind of wish I had gotten purple
I absolutely love my pump. After I was diagnosed in 2007, I used injections for three months then started my pump.
I can't imagine being tied to a pen or syringe--the pump lets me eat whenever and wherever I want. I also adjust my basal rates for throughout the day very easily, since I need more insulin in the morning than in the evening.
That said, many people find the insulin pump gives them too much freedom. A couple of times, I have almost forgotten I'm diabetic (as much as that's possible) and helped myelf to too much cake without thinking about it.
Basically, the pump requires a lot of responsibility, but if you're willing to put in the effort to learn to be a good pumper, it can be awesome!
