what are some signs that one has devoloped diabetes in their later 20`s?

my boyfriend of 11yrs. has recently lost weight and thinks that he may have developed diabetes. he is 29yrs old and he does drink and does eat alot of sugary foods. what are some other signs that he may have diabetes?

Hey Rachel,

 

Here's a link to our site with the symptoms listed for both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.

 

Our Type 2 diabetes site might also be useful, because it is less common for someone as old as 29 to develop Type 1, so he should also look into Type 2.

 

Either way, go to the Emergency room or to his family doctor and ask them to check his blood sugar and urine. Diabetes can be very easily diagnosed with these two simple medical tasks!
