Hey Rachel,   Here's a link to our site with the symptoms listed for both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.   Our Type 2 diabetes site might also be useful, because it is less common for someone as old as 29 to develop Type 1, so he should also look into Type 2.   Either way, go to the Emergency room or to his family doctor and ask them to check his blood sugar and urine. Diabetes can be very easily diagnosed with these two simple medical tasks!   -Ginger
