Hi Nana,

 

It is very common to lose weight upon diagnosis of diabetes, because without enough insulin, your body is burning up bodyfat in a desperate attempt for energy.

 

Don't worry, though, because as his doctors help him get an insulin regiment set up, he will put that weight back on, and start to look and feel much better!
