Hi, I'm not sure which insulin you take, but if the amount is still not bringing you to your blood sugar goals, you need to be re-evaluated by a doctor.  If a long-acting insulin like Lantus or Levimir isn't working alone, a rapid-acting insulin such as Novolog, Humalog, or Apidra may need to be added.  If you are already using a combo such as this, you may need adjustments in doses.  Also look at your eating habits.  Learn how to carb count and eat consistent amounts of carbs.  One way people on insulin control their blood sugars is doing a carb to insulin ratio.  This is where you can count the carbs and give an amount of insulin for so many carbs you you eat.  THis way, if you eat a low carb meal, you would take a smaller dose and if you eat a larger meal, you take a larger dose.  Sounds like you need to follow-up first with your doctor and talk with him about your options.
