Ahhh, if you've ever gotten a few massages before, you may have found that some people really know what they're doing...and some really don't.   Sounds like you've encountered a doctor who is giving you textbook answers without considering who is patient is as a person.   I've had a surgeon who argued with me about whether or not I could take my Lantus insulin after my jaw surgery...he wasn't going to let me take it because he "had never heard of Lantus before"....and I can tell you I argued with that man as best I could. "I'll be in the hospital for a different reason if you don't let me take this!"   Doctors are not always right.   You know your body better than anyone and you are an exceptional athelete and exceptional "patient" too! So definitely, find a doctor who will see you for who you are and not just some pancreas-defunct customer!   -Ginger
