Q: is 161 consider a high glucose after two hour of eating?

Hey Brenda,

 

After eating, no. Before a meal, slightly high, yes.

 

Could it be lower, though? Yes.

 

If you're at 161 two hours a meal, that means you could talk to your doctor adjusting your carb-to-insulin ratio that use to determine how much insulin you should take with the food you eat. By recalculating this amount with your doctor, you can help bring your post-meal glucose level down to 80 to 120.

what about after he eat's.

id say yes slightly. if your doin basal/bolus therapy such as lantus and novolog or humalog and your glucose level is that high after every meal you may need to adjust your basal dosage (lantus) Reply
