Q: diabulimia

I have had problems with diabulimia for the past 3 years.  I have lost a lot of hair due to this.  If I control my blood sugar, will my hair be as thick as it was before?

Hi Lynn,

Your hair should go back to normal if you're start controlling your blood sugars again. Abnormal hair growth is really the least of your problems for someone dealing with diabulimia. The hair growth is temporary. This a response to your body being so out of balance.

Diabulimia affects not just your blood sugars and your weight, but your eyes, your kidneys, your hormones, your brain, your fingers and your toes.

These effects, though, are permanent.

Have you sought counseling or medical help so you can find help with your diabulimia?
