Q: I dont know what to eat

I know it is better to eat unprocessed fresh foods, I eat alot of frozen meals, lots of processed crap. Im trying to eat clean home cooked meals for lunch at work, I dont have alot of money as I live alone, and bills add up, what are some cheap healthy options, easy to pack and simple to prepare. I really dont know what to eat, ive seen the dietician but im still lost, and always hungry when I try to eat healthy, ive asked my dietician for a sample grocery list or help making one but all she says every time is that I can eat whatever I want in moderation, that really doesnt help me as I eat junk. Please HELP!!!

Hi Krystal,

Great question and I totally understand your frustrations with your dietician.

As both a personal trainer and a person with diabetes, I would recommend a nutrition plan full of lean protein, lots of veggies and healthy fats that come from nuts, olive oil, avacodo, etc.

Here are a few articles that discuss healthy nutrition for someone with diabetes:

Carbs

Carbs, exercise and weight gain

Low-carbs and Hypoglycemia

and a carbohydrate quiz!

I hope this helps!
