Hi Kristen,

Do you have diabetes?

Basically, with Type 1 diabetes it is a continual balancing game between insulin, food, exercise and a variety of uncontrollable things like hormones and stress. These things all increase or decrease a person's blood sugar. If you have diabetes, your body won't regulate on it's own because you don't make insulin anymore, so you have to use insulin injections and blood sugar monitoring to continually keep your blood sugar "in range" (80 to 120).

For a diabetic, it's quite normal to go from 65 to 300 during the day. Our goal though is to keep our blood sugar in range as much as possible.

Does that help?
