What do you do when someone thinks that you have type 2 diabetes?

What does anyone do when people think that you have type 2 diabetes instead of type 1? I was just talking to one of my friends whom I've known for a long time and even she didn't know the difference! I get really mad when people do that and I try not to but I just can't help it...
