Hi Rachel,

This is a complicated question, because it can change depending on your age, activity level and your overall goals.

If your goals are to lose weight, reducing your carbs and increasing lean proteins and healthy fats is great for diabetics. When I say "reduce your carbs" for someone teenage or older, I would suggest that you start trying to eat between 70 to 100 grams of carbs. I would guess, if you weren't trying to avoid carbs, you may consuming closer to 200 or 250 at least. But I don't know you or your diet.

Do you have access to a nutritionist and/or Diabetes Educator?

What is your diet like now?
