American Diabetics in Favor of Health Care Reform

By Dr. Bill Quick, Health Pro Monday, April 19, 2010
When the new US health insurance law was being debated, national polls clearly indicated a substantial split of opinion about whether the law would be helpful or not. For instance, a CNN poll conducted on March 19-21, 2010, asked 1,030 Americans the following question: "As you may know, the U.S. Hous...

Interesting article. I am one of those who want to know more. Right now I can't really afford the co-pay on my two insulins and can't work to earn extra to pay the $80+/month. What does the new law have in store for people like me?

Where in the US Constitution does it say my government is to provide health care for me?

Do you know of any program our government is involved with that it does better than private enterprise can?  It takes our federal government to really mess things up.

If they really wanted to reform health care, they would have implimented tort reform and opened up private insurance to inter-state purchasing to make insurance prices more competative.

I do NOT believe the current health care will benefit patients in any way.  I believe the only ones who will benefit are the insurance buddies of the legislators.

Last I heard there are about 80% of Americans have some sort of health insurance.  Now no one can  be can be cancelled when they get sick and pre-existing conditions cannot be a reason to deny coverage.

There is a lot of retoric about being "forced" to buy health care coverage.  Well, if you need health care now there's no reason not to get it with income based coverage. If you cannot afford to buy even discounted income based insurance it can be lowered to $0.  Last I heard it will go into effect in about 2 years, if not sooner.

Just how much it will cost or not cost taxpayers is yet to be seen.  However, there are many who are not willing to pay anything to help their fellow man.  What would Jesus say?

There is much said on the news about being forced to remove any symbols the Christian religion from public places, but from what I'm seeing is so many in this country are removing charity from their hearts. "Love thy neighbor as thy self".
