I don't know if they are available in England, but you can get Frio Bags to  hold your insulin and pens in. They would be the perfect thing to use in a situation like this. They are available worldwide. I would just put Frio in the search bar. 

Dr. Bill Quick has given you some good ideas as well. Also be sure to carry extra food and juice, to treat low blood sugars. Planes don't carry food like they use to.

Yes Frio bags are available in the UK, I have several. When flying from London to Antigua on honeymoon, I used these for my insulin. However as long as there isn't much risk of overheating, I wouldn't worry too much - I use Lantus and it can be kept out of the fridge for 30 days before it starts to 'go off'.
