My husband is a recently-diagnosed diabetes patient.  In fact, they now know it is Type 1 (he is 46), and he uses Lantus (AM/PM doses) and Novolog pen.

He drinks a LOT of diet soda.

While I know it doesn't change his blood sugar, can this be good for him?

I mean a LOT -- even if he isn't eating something, he'll open a can and just drink it.

(Often, I believe he should just be drinking water -- i.e. after cuttin lawn, etc).

What do you think?

If you google diet pop and health you will find lots of stories about what happens to people who drink lots of pop.   It's an addictive substance that has a lot of feel good chemicals in it.
