I agree that the last thing someone wants, it´s to end in a ER or in a ICU, specially for hipoglycemia. Specially in a person with years of diabetes, that´s a feared situation.
But there are some aspects related to a "chronic disease" that also affect for a better control of the medication.
Recently I have a severe hipoglycemic situation, apparently related to the administration of Lantus in a small subcutaneous vein, situation not searched in any way.
But a problem I have seen in myself, is that related to the cronicity of the insulin administration (more than 20 years, at least 4 times a day, "rapid" and "slow" insulin), some times I don´t remember exactly if I have put myself the inyection, and I get a high glucose level later. That´s a problem I didn´t get solution at the time.
Is a situation only few diabetes instructors know or managed
Hi I am Rudy Barroso. I am 13 years old and my sister and I have created a board game that teaches families about diabetes, and its called Future Focus. Future Focus is a fun educational tool that people can use to educate themselves and the people around them.
My sister is the Juvenal diabetes research foundation youth ambassador and we both publicly speak in large conventions to help get out our game. If you would like further information on our game see our website at http://www.futurefocusgame.com/. We were wondering if you can have a link on your website to our website if possible.
Thank you,
