I got tired of always being pulled aside and searched when I wore my pump and told them what it was. At one airport they put some type of powder on the pump case and then put the powder in a small machine. They didn't tell me what they were doing and I didn't want to slow things down by asking. Now, I take my pump off just while I go through security, put the pump in with my computer and reattach it at the gate or when I'm putting my shoes back on. So far it they haven't questioned me as they watched it go through the x-ray scanner and it hasn't hurt the pump.
