Everyone who's had diabetes for a while is aware that there's some sort of relationship between their blood glucose (BG) levels and the results of their hemoglobin A1c (A1C) test. If someone's BGs are completely normal for the last three months, it's probably safe to assume that the A1C, if measured ...

I read the report about the study done. I just do not feel it is an accurate representative of a person's average blood glucose. Only testing 507 people to me does not constitute a real study of any significance. Also the average testing came out to just over 5 times a day. I would much rather stay with the a1c and hopefully a meters will start giving 90 day averages and not just 30 day averages.

I've been a diabetic for 35 yrs. I have been pretty true to following all the instructions of my dr. but I can not seem to get my A1c below 7.5 .  I am about 50lbs heaver than I should be and can't seem to lose any weight. I am so tired of counting carbs and restricting what I eat I just want to chuck it all.  Any suggestions from anyone????

Would an insulin pump be any help to me?

I am considering asking my dr about it but don't have enough information about it.

Thanks for any input you have.
