    I take Byetta and some times I will take a third or half a Glipizide 20 just to get my BG down into acceptable range. So there are other reasons to split pills than saving money.  It seems that BG depends on what is "in process" as well as what is eaten at the last meal and it is a continual guessing game.

    To eliminate ‘insurance fraud’ all the physician has to do is write ‘take half a pill’ so many times a day.  Judy
