One of my first reactions when I got the diagnosis of diabetes was, "Well, it's not leukemia. This could be much worse."

Basically, that's been my attitude ever since.  Diabetes can certainly take it's toll on a person, but in the whole scheme of things, if this is my burden to bear, it's one I can easily handle.

    I love your perspective Ginger!!

Ginger, you are so right about this. Too many of us find something to complain about in our lives and feel it makes life difficult for us, when in reality it could be SO MUCH worse! And usually these things are so insignificant to our life in general that it's sad how much they impact us at this exact moment. (Like being a few minutes late to some sort of appointment, or having to wait a little longer for something we really want.)

Thanks for reminding me, once again, that while today didn't go as I hoped it would, that there could've been so much worse in store for me. It's too bad that we can't always remember to appreciate the good things in our lives and always have to focus on the worst parts of them, even when they aren't that bad at all in the long run!
