The "stuff on your fingers" mistake is a classic.  My most recent episode happened while on a walk with my husband.  I'd eaten a handful of raisins prior to setting out, and tested at 275 mg/dl midway through our walk.  I gave myself a correction bolus and kept walking.  About 50 yards later it dawned on me!  Sticky, raisin-covered fingers!  I retested and wasn't high at all!  Luckily we were near food stands and I was able to get the snack I needed right away.

 

I imagine it's even more frustrating when it's your child dealing with the unnecessary rollercoaster.  But, hey, you guys had good intentions... these things just happen.  At least for awhile, you'll be more aware about what sugary substances are on his fingers!
