I'm a Type 1 diabetic, and am in the honeymoon period.  I was having tons of sugar lows, so my doc told me to go off the insulin for a couple of days and monitor my BG to see what happened.  I went off the insulin, and, for the first time since I was discharged from the hospital, I have had no sugar lows.  However, my BG has been creeping higher and higher, and my fasting BG was at 6.1.  So I decided it was time to reintroduce the insulin, at the dose the doc suggested (8 units).  I did this, and ended up with a sugar low.  So I've gone off the insulin again, and now my fasting BG is back to 6.1.  *sigh*  I think perhaps I should be on an even lower does of insulin - like about 4 units?
