I agree 100% with this post, most people do not understand the power of mindfulness. We live a hurried world and this is why people dismiss mindfulness. And to the previous poster it can help with diabetes, a filmmaker did a study combining natural healing and mindfulness and it did help people http://www.onlineprnews.com/news/31027-1271354651-a-popular-reverse-diabetes-diet-by-a-moviemaker-is-working-well-for-many.html
Hi Anna:
It's unfortunate that I can't express in words the power of mindfulness in my life and what it has done. In posts, I never discuss specific clients or students, but I have witnessed dramatic life transformation usng mindfulness. I appreciate your acknowledgment of mindfulness and it's power.
But relaxation technique is not enough to reverse the diabetes. This method is for pre-diabetic to return to the normal state and lifelong practicing meditation or "shava asan" in yoga to keep it in that state. For sure, there are other advantages of this practice - peace of mind is the major one which in turn is a node to alliviate the tentacles of life otherwise.
I absolute agree that mindfulness has not been shown to reverse diabetes. It can however, certainly help with all of the discomforts in life, whether or not they are associated with diabetes or not.
