I tell patients starting on Byetta that it may be wonderful to have one's appetite under control but if they notice this, it is even MORE important to make very healthy dietary choices in order to prevent long term nutritional deficiencies due to decreased overall dietary intake. Therefore, START a meal/snack with a some low carb veggies, lean/lowfat protein and then add in a little complex carb like a SMALL serving of high fiber grain and or fruit. Eat SLOWLY, listen to what your stomach is telling you and stop when you begin to feel full. (This is what we should all be doing anyhow!)

Excellent advice. That is what I try to do. Eating slowly has been the hardest thing for me to do, but I noticed that I was the slowest eater at my table at the Fairmont hotel! And I wasn't able to finish my plate before the efficient waiter took it away!
