Hi David, very interesting set of articles. I hadn't known about how the mitochondria couldn't use longer carbon chain fats until I read about it here.
You second para under the heading MCT though doesn't make sense to me. You say that protein doesn't give us the energy we need, yet if we eat to much it spikes our blood sugar. Surely protein does give us energy via a process in the liver called gluconeogenesis.

also, MCT oil is absorbed directly in the GI tract, so may be optimal for anyone with malabsorption or chronic inflammatory bowel conditions
