Brian Wansink loaned me the title for this article. I borrowed it from his forthcoming book, Mindless Eating: Why We Eat More That We Think.
The book, which I read in galley proofs, is not only great research but also great writing. I hope that it will be a best-seller, and I have every expectation...

Monday, October 02, 2006 at 10:25 AMI believe this is the book I've been looking for! Just in the past 2 weeks I noticed, after the fact, that I have been mindlessly eating! That is, I found that I would simply reach for and consume something without even thinking about carbs, calories, glycemic index, time of day or amount! And usually that food sabotaged (sic) my tight food allotment. I maybe needed a snack, but not the one I mindlessly consumed. Sometimes I even had a specific and yummy snack planned; still ate whatever I reached first. Instead of the mind-body connection, it's the mind-mouth connection. David's Response: You have hit the nail on the head, Janis. We all do have a strong mind-mouth connection that we need to mind!
