The debate on whether the calories that
people with or without diabetes drink help to make us feel full isn't
over. But the evidence that they don't is mounting. Dear Joan, I referred your comment to my favorite Certified Diabetes Educator, who is the one who uses glucomannan. This is her reply: drinking tons and tons of water (or diet soda, or black/unsweetened coffee, or black/unsweetened tea, for that matter) does not fill the "lack of content" void -- we just keep trying to tell us that this is the case.

The Carbohydrate Brain Fuel Myth
re: Drinking Calories Debated
I have been using glucomannan in powder form, incorporating a
level teaspoon into most of my meals. I have been making my own healthy
salad dressing by mixing 4 tablespoons of Bragg apple cider vinegar
with 2 tbsp of flax high lignan oil and a generous dash of cholula hot
sauce. This thickens up quite quickly, so i either pour it on within a
minute or so, or if it is too thick for that, then i just spoon it onto
whatever greens I'm about to eat and mix it in. If I need to add in
some protein for that meal, i'll add a raw egg or 2 into the
"dressing."
I believe the noodles are a much greater diluted form of the
powder. The powder is EXTREMELY hydrophyllic. The directions are to mix
1 level teaspoon of the powder into about 1 cup of a liquid part of
your meal. You know i eat really WIERD things - instead of that
"chiatole" recipe I created last fall, i now make a "cold porridge" out
of glucomannan, whey protein powder and flax oil. the glucomannan
really thickens the whey mix up quickly and VERY effectively. I stir in
some cinnamon, a dash of vanilla and a dash of salt. i love it! Of
course, i generally have a large bowl of greens/green cabbage with some
flax oil and Bragg apple cider vinegar dressing as well to round out
the meal.

The glucomannan which you spoon it onto my vegetables, if this in capsule form.?
Shirataki noodles also contain glucomann, if you added some to your vegetables, would it not amount to the same thing?
