I liked your article, and look forward to future tips. The only one that you might want to rethink is that food eaten at night is "worse". A study done last year show that it's total food eaten in a day... with no more "weight" given to food eaten after dinner. http://www.webmd.com/diet/news/20060202/midnight-snack-wont-pack-fat

David,

I was a very fast eater until I started eating with my left hand. (I am right handed.) Not only did it slow me down but I am building new brain cells. Research show that using the nondominant hand is as good as learning a new language, doing crossword puzzles, etc. Now I am trying to write with my left hand. Much harder!

David,  One tip I learned early on was to drink 8-12 oz of water about 15 minutes before the meal.  This helps you feel full faster when you do eat the meal.

Even better than drinking 8-12 oz. of water - try adding fiber to it.  I use Metamucil and it really helps you feel full.  I actually don't think it's possible to over eat if you drink the fiber before a meal!

David,

Your article hits the nail on the diet head.  Portion control and eating at predictable intervals is at the heart of a successful diet.  Eat the right thing in the right amount at the right time and you will have a hard time NOT loosing weight!

I was able to loose 25 lbs. in just over three months.  My A1C level dropped from 7 to 5.9 and, for the first time in years, my chloresteral levels and blood pressure are in the normal range.  Whooppee!
