B is for Byetta

At first I couldn’t decide whether B was for Byetta or for better. Then I realized that it didn’t matter.Byetta is better. It is better at helping people with type 2 diabetes to lose weight than anything else. And the longer I use it the better it helps me at controlling my appetite and i...

Hi David

I am the vinegar tablet lady for dawn phenomenon.   Remember?

Well, since December I have been on 10 mg of Byetta 2xdaily and have lost 30 #.

I am delighted with the results and with the wonderful feeling of not looking for food all the time.  As a matter of fact, sometimes it is difficult to eat enough because food just does not appeal to me some of the time.

Even with the weight loss my blood sugars were not low enough.  I take Actos 45 one time a day and was taking Prandin at meals which was causing low blood sugar and without it my levels were up even with Byetta.

My doctor prescribed 1/2 pill of Starlix, a new drug to be taken just before meals and voila! the formula was found!!!  Now my levels are excellent, there is no dawn phenomenom and I continue to lose weight.

I want to thank you again because you have definitely been my inspiration.  I do so appreciate and look forward to your monthly visits on e-mail.

Again, I am so sorry for the loss of your wonderful wife.  I see though that your commitment to helping others is seeing you through.  Keep up the wonderful work.

My doctor just took me off medicine (metformin) since I lost so much weight and got my diabetes under control.  He was telling me that 20 min. of exercise was equivalent to my dose of metformin; so I'm walking 30 minutes twice a day now (as I took metformin twice daily)...

My main concern is that I heard that metformin also decreases your appetite so helps with weight loss...I'm just wondering if anyone has recommendations if I start putting weight on again (other then going back on metformin)...
