I just want to give a shout out to Parade magazine for featuring an essay by Missy Foy, an ultramarathoner who has type 1 diabetes! I am thrilled to see a strong, healthy woman in the media as an image for diabetes. Read her story, "You Can't Be Afraid To Try" about discovering that diabetes does not make you (us) less capable. I have waited so long for this kind of role model, these are the faces of inspiration!
