About Me

I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I was 14 years old, just 6 months after my younger sister's diagnosis. 23 years later, I am the mom to 2 healthy boys and a freelance writer living in Charleston, SC with my husband. I am working on an anthology called, Dreaming About Water, a collection of personal essays and practical advice by and for women living with diabetes with my colleague, Violeta Garcia-Mendoza.
