Low Blood Sugar
This morning I woke up with a low. Before I had to go to work.
It actually woke me up. I was so hot and sweaty and on top of that I had a splitting headache. My husband knew something was up because I went for my blood machine. Slowly and without energy I finally grabbed it. It took me a minute to even prick my finger because I didn't even feel like doing it. With a really shaky hand I put in the strip, dabbed the blood on and waited for the result.
My husband already had my juice in hand, and had it opened. He handed it over and I drank it up in two seconds and laid back down. The juice had 33 carbs in it. Usually, it takes about 10 minutes for the symptoms to go away. I didn't have my transmitter on for my CGM because I took it off the other day so there was no alarm going off. This morning I wished I had it on. Well technically I did but I had put in the sensor last night and I recharged the battery to the transmitter so I was going to be putting it back on this morning. Figures on the day you need it.
Anway, 15 minutes passed and I felt exactly the same. I was soaked with sweat and my head was killing me worse than before. I got the meter and checked again.
46. Ok, what the?
Mike got me another juice and at this point I felt like I couldn't even function. I had to make the train at 745am and it was 715am. I didn't even get out of bed yet. I was so tired. It was like a block of lead was on top of me and I couldn't move. I waited till 8am and started finally started feeling better.
I would have to call work to tell them I was going to be late. It is so embarrassing and annoying. I do not like it when stuff like this happens and It affects me going to work or some place important. I hate when having stops me from having a normal day.
To top it off I went low two more times today at 4pm. Is it possible that apple juice just doesn't work for me anymore? Has this happened to anyone else? Where you have to drink twice to get your blood sugars up?
I really hate diabetes this week.
