Friday, January 30, 2009 at 09:44 AMThey are only slightly larger than the sensor & transmitter together, so getting perfect placement is an issue, but they do not come off.
In fact, we had to get the Unisolve wipes to remove the sticky residue. We walked around with oval tape marks on our bodies for a few weeks. :-)
Also, I have noticed water gets trapped inside the tape after showers/baths, and it will slowly leak out (and get on clothes, etc.) so i cut a tiny slit (i'm talking 1 mm at most) at the bottom of the tape and the water drains quickly.

Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10:00 AMOh my goodness, I could have written this post. My CGM had been workign perfectly, until this week. All of the sudden, the IV3000 will not stick. I had one sensor pop out, and one go bad. I also had one that stayed at 45 all night - even though I was around 100. I kept calabrating, but the readings it gave never changed. And now today, I've been showing around 160 all morning. Going to test again to see if my BG is really stuck, or if the CGM is.
I'm feeling really frustrated though, and I don't know what to do.

Okay - it's probably not this... but...

Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 12:22 AMJust in case... ya'll didn't start using a new moisturizer or hand cream or using one at a different time, did you? I know we're generally conditioned to be pretty careful with those around the adhesives, but I thought I might ask...
Cheers...

My hands sometimes get dry in the winter and I know with some of the creams, the residue sticks around for a while (two in particular change my fingerstick readings and even washing my hands doesn't quite do it - I have to use other cleaners). I guess I am wondering if you touched the adhesive or the insertion area with a hand that contained the moisturizer whether the transfer could have been enough to make it less sticky.
Even if you were applying the cream to the area, I suspect it'd be a stretch - it was the only thing that jumped to my mind that seemed like a possible difference in this winter season.
I am sure you'll figure it out and I'll be very curious to know what you find to fix it!
Cheers!

I have used a few of those things, and there are still many others out there. I'm sure that you'll find something that will help it work for you, but it may take some trial and error (like everything with diabetes right?).
