Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 02:26 PMThank you so much for sharing the true reality of day to day life with diabetes and letting us know that even with self-conscious feelings in the beginning of a relationship, love does prevail. How tender of your then bf, now husband, to have had candy in the nightstand and kiss the infusion set area.
Gina, this is exactly why I love to read your posts - they are so real - from the heart - touching, special, open....and provide the emotional support we can't get from medical professionals, books, or online factual resources. I value the voice in your writing. You're the best.

Another great post.
I was married for 20 years, pumpless then went on the pump 7 years ago and I am sure it is my issue, but for me sex is different on the pump than pumpless. On the pump I feel very restricted in movement, if that makes sense, so I usually disconnect, but then I hate the site hanging on my tummy, even though I cap off.

I have never discussed it with my husband, but it really bothers me that I am on the pump during intimate occasions. I am thinking soon of a pump vacation.

The part about Mike having candies in the drawer next to the bed in case you went low ----- amazingly sweet and uplifting! Thanks for being open about and making normalcy of what so many of us go through...
