Forgetting 2 Bolus

Gina, way to go, you're doing great and it's helping us around the world to learn some of what you're learning. I used to forget bolus at breakfast when I was new to the pump. Set an alarm on my pump to help remember for weekday breakfasts! Now I usually don't have a problem unless I'm low and delaying a meal bolus, then sometims I forget when b/s goes back in normal range. I've also learned that to control a post-breakfast spike in b/s, I bolus earlier before the meal. If I am high or normal and going up b4 breakfast, I bolus 20-30 minutes before eating. Too much delay leads to a low, so have to be careful with this approach! I tried quicker insulin, but it wasn't covered by my insurance (insurance only covers use Humulin or Humalog).

Fred,
I now try as much as I can to bolus 15 minutes before I am eating. It has been working wonderfully! I set alarms on the pump before but they honestly annoy me so much. Plus I am wearing a CGM and when I walk into a room sometimes it sounds like I am walking time bomb LOL Imagine all those beep bo bops I will definitely turn some heads LOL
Anyway, i am glad you like my posts! I have three more coming! stay tuned!!!
