It's been awhile since I have been here! So many new things things have transpired here and in my life. I have now lost 45 pounds
and my A1-C runs between 5.3 - 5.6, awesome to say the least. I have struggled for years to loose weight and Byetta has been a Godsend for me. It has taken me 1 year and 1 month to loose the 45 pounds but the best part is that its staying off. I now take 2.5 mg of Glipizde twice a day, 1000 mg of metform twice a day and Byetta 10 mcg twice a day and there have been days I have take the Byetta once a day.
I have found that the Byetta doesn't allow me to eat fried foods which I don't very often but when I do I have to visit the bathroom. (I am sure your get the picture) I also take Simivastatin 80 mg and my cholestrol is doing great! 161 total, LDL 114, HDL 43 and my trigs are 180 which was over 300 in February 2007.
Well, I have been reading my email updates but just haven't had the time to post here. Last August my husband was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer.
So my time was spent in doing lots of research for several months until he made a decision with much prayer on a treatment plan. In late January this year we made the appointment to see a radiologist/oncologist to discuss Brachytherapy (radiation seed implant). On April 9th after many tests and prior studies for he had to quailfy had the seed implant. I am here to tell we are excited that his PSA at the end of July this year was 1.2.
These last several months have been hard for we both picked up a nasty virus,
my husband first in June and ended up with pneumonia and still has a cough with a sore mucles from the cough. Myself I ended up with bronchitis and I can say I just have some coughing but thank God we are on the mend. My favorite scripture during this time is "This too shall pass!"
Growing old is not for sissies! Life is grand!
God Bless,
Monica
