Side Affects with Byetta - How about you?

I started Byetta June 2007, I have now been on Byetta 10mcg since July 2007 and have done remarkably with minimal side affects (mild nausea & some diarrhea) until recently. I have maintained my weight loss and my last A1c in September 2009 was 5.0. Needless to say am overjoyed with the results.

In late August 2009 I started having vomiting problems, my midriff area had a lot of pressure and I felt like the area was being...

~~Tooting my horn!!!~~

I thought I would stop by and toot my horn:
I have been on Byetta for 1 1/2 years and I am doing great!
My A1c on 12/9/08 was 5.5 and my BP was 128/68
I now have lost 48 pounds - it is slow coming off but I do know I have to work on more walking.

In September 2008 my total cholesterol was 138
LDL 59
HDL 39
Trigs 199

I am starting Lovaza/Omacor and see if that will get the trigs down and HDL up. I do watch what I eat...

Frustrated with daughter's doctor!

My daughter was diagnosed as a diabetic Type 2 in 2006 and has been able to control her diabetes by weight loss, diet (low carb) and exercise. She dropped 60 pounds (from 275) and has been able to maintain the weight loss and keep her blood sugar in control. She will be 39 in October.

About eight months ago her family doctor moved from her area and she had to find a new doctor and had her records transferred to the new...

Who raised or lowered the bar?

The Saga of a Type-2 Diabetic!Who raised or lowered the bar - the numbers? I just got my lab results back, I am very excited my A1c is 5.3% but did you know that is high. The normal range is now 4.0% - 5.2%, so who raised the bar on the A1c test normal range. This is the second time in 6 months that my A1c has been 5.3% to which I say , "Praise the Lord!" The control range chart in my endocrinologist's office has the A1c at 6.5%...

Can a Virus Make You Obese?

I recevied the article below and thought it was of interest to us that are diabetic and struggle with our weight. However, their lab tests showed that...
