A few simple ideas that have made it easier for me:
Gave away all my large dinner plates - we now use only salad plates and small cake plates - portion control.
Always serve one cup of a clear, degreased broth, with or without veggies to start a meal - it takes the edge off your hunger.
Make your meals as colorful as possible - set a pretty table with colorful placemats, contrasting dishes and cutlery - use small plates - small plates with green salad, fruit, bean salad, the cup of soup, along with a salad plate of the main dish sure looks like a a lot of food and fills you up even before you start.
When tomatoes are cheap buy a bunch, dip in boiling water, peel, place on a cookie sheet in the freezer, when frozen pop into a zip lock bag ( God Bless whoever invented Zip Lock ! ) then they are ready for adding a almost no calorie or carbs to anything.
Keep a bowl of thinnly sliced red onion marinated in lemon juice and salt in the fridge. It is great on just about anything and gives lovely color and flavor without any calories or carbs.
Please add your own Tips and Tricks - we need to make this fun !
