Hello Friends,
I am living with diabetes for the past 10 years, and there was a time I could not bend down very well, I started yoga 9 years ago and liked it so much that I am teaching to every one at work or temple for free and share my knowledge, I am a Chemist and a in the field of research so I was very interested why yoga works so well for people. One reason being unlike any other form of exercise it works on our endocrine glands such as thyroid,pitutaory,pinal, pera thyroid pancreas, yoga makes them work more effectively, yoga works on symphtetic and perasymphatetic nervous system making you feel at peace, one of the primary goal of yoga is to make our body ( vehical for soul), work at its peak so one can do meditation for long periods of time. hence it gives so strenghth flexibility,clear mind and gives you a sence of well being and calm, hatha yoga is what we need as it balances left and right, or hot and cold parts of body and unites them that is the meaning of YOGA a sanskrit word yuj combining uniting of mind body and soul,
Every time I go to see my doctor he gets amazed that Ionly need hlaf of the dose that he normally gives to other,my BP, cholestrol are in check, I think it is beacause of yoga.
If any of you like to know more please let me know I will share with you my understanding of yoga, I feel it takes you on this amazing path which is full of happiness and content and that is what we need to calm down our over active mind.
