I love using insulin because it keeps my mind, kidneys and energy flowing like crazy. Just think of this crazy guy as nkirk1 amd remember I test every theory out ever derived from medicine, examine diabetic animal models and compare the results to my own experience.

Me too! My A1c was 15 when I found out I was diabetic! Started on insulin right away & it dropped to 6.7 my next visit and with a pretty diligent reimine (diet, exercise & some pretty serious carb counting) it's been below 6 for the past year! So yeah, works for me!
My PCP said when he told me my glucose levels were thru the roof "The best way to get it down the fastest is with insulin, that means injections, can you do that?"
I was just like "Do I have a choice"? I didn't argue so that's what we did.
And it has worked GREAT! So I am all about it! It worked great for me! I don't understand why people resist it so much and are so against it. I really don't understand people that keep insisting on sticking to oral meds when their numbers just keep creeping up & up.
There are less side effects & the long term effects are well known unlike some of the newer meds out there on the market.
Just thought I'd chime in, give my thoughts, let people know it's not so bad and maybe get some other people to think about giving insulin a try!
