About Me

I was diagnosed with Diabetes at the age of 42. The doctor did very limited tests and I did not take it seriously at first. I was prescribed insulin. Since I refuse to use needles I did not take the insulin. A year or so later, I changed Doctors. When I went in for my initial consult, I explained what had happened, and my Doctor said, well lets look at the tests and see. He explained that I did not need insulin replacement because I was insulin resistant. My body makes plenty of insulin, but my cells do not use it. That began the road to finding a medicine combination that worked for me. My A1C was 8.6 in 2004 and now is at 6.6.
