About Me

My dad was right, I should have been a physician.  Still don't know if I could put up with all the politics that get mixed with medicine.  I have always been fascinated about human metabolism and physiology all my life.  My father was an endo and had a specialty lab that I worked in over the summers in my teenage years.  I thought that I would be a physician but loved working with my hands and seeing what my dentist friends were doing.  So I go to dental school and guess what? I find there is a great need for dental professionals that have a medical background to help deal with the increased need for dental care for patients that were medically complex.  I am very compassionate about my care for my patients and my work with the diabetes community started insidiously.  But I also found that I became so involved with diabetes care that I look more forward to those professional meetings than the dental.  And I have made some great friendships with people who have diabetes and those that treat them.  It is truely a unique "community".
