Hello everyone. Well I am at shock. I hadn't been feeling good and lost over 20 lbs so I went to the dr. 5 days later I have the police looking for me since the dr couldn't get ahold of me. My average was sugar level was 400 with hemoglobin a1c 13.2. I am in shock, hurt, and depressed. Is this a normal stage to go through? And also has anyone had kids with being this diabetic? My dr suggested no more but we wanted 1 more. (we do have a girl and a boy) Thank you I just need to talk with people that have it and understand I guess.

That's a lot ot have going on all at once. You will need to get your sugar levels under control and your a1c down to a healthy range and then having children is possible. Talk with Kelsey Bonilla about it, she's a blogger on this site too and started blogging during her pregnancy.
A great book to help get a grip on your own is Think Like a Pancreas by Gary Scheiner. Gary is a type one diabetic and also a CDE, certified diabetic educator, out of Philadelphia. The book is not long, but he has lots of fabulous tips for learning how to manage your diabetes!
The ovrwhelm is big in the beginning, but as you learn to manage this you'll find life has changed very little for you.
