About Me

I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 1975. It has been a struggle, but I have managed. I have been married for 22 years and have two boys, ages 9 & 14. I have been blessed. Currently, my bloodsugars have been unstable and I am working with my endocrinologist and dietician to get it under control. My last Hemoglobin A1C was 8.0. Update: 9/8/09 My endocrinologist has said that I am able to go on the pump. This will take place the middle of October. I am nervous about this, as I have been taking shots since I was 8 or 9 years old. Please anyone with some advice, it would be appreciated. My husband and I will be going to a pump retreat next month. It will be for 2 days. I am excited and scared at the same time.
