Hi, I am new here. How exciting that you will be having a baby soon!!! I have 3 children. My youngest is now 14 and I had gestational diabetes with him. He was born under 7 lbs...my second child is now 18. When I was checked for diabetes during that pregnancy the test showed negative, but he ended up weighing 10 lbs, 15 oz!!!! I am now a type 2 diabetic. I am happy that you and the baby are doing well...Best Wishes!

Thanks for reading and commenting Becky!

I just learned that a friend of mine, who had gestational diabetes with her daughter, was told she'd likely deliver a 10 pound plus baby.  Turns out the baby was just over 8 pounds.  Goes to show that those estimates are just that... guesses!

I'm glad to hear your diabetic pregnancy worked out so well.  Diabetes really can keep us healthy because of the restrictions it demands.

Merry Christmas!
