Saturday, May 02, 2009 at 11:40 AMKelsey, it seems that if you are comfortable with the pump that you have and it is working well, then why change in the midst of a big decision? If the cozmo was what you used through the last pregnancy and all was healthy and happy with no complications, then why not stick to that plan of action at this point?
It seems that the endo is not thinking this thru. I know when I went on the pump, it was a year before I was confident to say I can handle more. When I had the CGMS for a 10 day trial, it was not a walk in the park! I'm not sure I would add, shall we say, more bells and whistles!
Keep us posted on your choice!

Saturday, May 02, 2009 at 02:51 PMI went on a CGM (through Medtronic) last May, paid for out of my own pocket. Loved it and brought my A1C down 1.2%. Then in August my provincial gov't came out with a program paying for pumps for any T1 diabetic meeting certain criteria (there were a lot!!!). I met them all so I got a Paradigm 722 through Medtronic (has a built in CGM to go along with my sensor). I started pumping in Oct and am now 14 weeks pregnant. I have had no problems running both. Most of the time I don't bother with the CGM - I only use it if my numbers go funny for a couple of days. My A1C is perfect even when not using the CGM - I'll be honest - I love the ability to be able to use the CGM whenever I want, but I love that I don't need it or have to use it all the time. I love the built in so that I don't have to wear 2 machines! Good luck with your decision making!!!

First off, let me be the first to admit that my opinions are probably biased based on my past employment with Cozmo. But for the record, I'm going to keep my Cozmo running as long as I can. Duct tape and superglue if necessary. :-)
